The Girard Coalition, Inc. helped the President of Tiffin
Indian Cuisine
Munish Narula get a $50,000 grant to help in the construction of a new
restaurant Tiffin Pizza, etc. which will be located at 712 W Girard
Avenue.
The
grant was
presented by Mayor Nutter at a city wide event in which only ten
recipients received funding support. The Selection of Tiffin Pizza,
etc. for a grant shows how GCI is able to work with businesses to help
them gain the support they need. If you are a business owner on Girard
Avenue, or you plan to start a business on the corridor please contact
us at info@girardcoalition.org to get the support you need.

Girard Avenue Phases 2 and
3 sidewalk improvements received funding On October 10,
2007 Mayor John
F. Street presented two checks totaling $1.9 million to Girard Avenue
for new sidewalks. The grants were funded by the Neighborhood
Transformation Initiative Restore Commercial Corridors Program.
The Girard Avenue sidewalk
project between 25th and 31st Streets received $1.2 million, while the
section between Front and Susquehanna Avenues received funding for
$700,000. The two projects are the next phases of sidewalk improvements
to follow the first phase of improvements completed earlier in 2007 on
Girard Avenue between 6th and Front Streets.

behalf of Girard Avenue were Angel Coleman, Girard Coalition, Inc
interim executive director; Mario Presta, president of the West Girard

Kimport, president of the Fishtown Area Business Association and board
